Tech to cure your holiday hangover

2025 is almost over and 2026 is just around the corner. Everyone is handling the transition differently. From one extreme - going to bed at 8:00 pm, spending the night making your list for new years resolution, all the way to wild parties fueled with alcohol.

The result? A massive hangover.

You know that this is a major business when companies like Amazon or Walmart offer hangover kits.

But thanks to the technology companies of the world, there are ways other than drinking coffee to help you cure your hangover and go into 2026 feeling your best.

First, you could try on an Oura Ring, a wearable that tells you what deficits you have in your sleep, hydration, and rest. This subtle wearable does it all by taking your vitals in a ring form factor, and then analyzing your body’s data through a nifty app.

After you know how dehydrated you really are, you might reach for a LARQwater bottle. The space-age device cleans itself with a UV light. It also tracks your hydration levels to tell you when you should drink more (water, that is).

If the festivities have really taken the energy out of you, you might be feeling a bit nauseous and on-edge. Maybe you even have a bit of hangxiety.

If you do, fire up the Breathwrk app, which walks you through a quick meditation to settle your mind (and stomach). The app even comes with different meditation options depending on what mood you’re starting in.

You might be dehydrated and nauseous, but more than anything, you need sleep. Having a ‘sleep debt’ can have a real impact on your mood. The best way to wake up?

Try something from Phillips SmartSleep, a wake-up light that simulates the sun. Sounds much better than a blaring alarm clock when you have a hangover. It’s also been shown to reduce grogginess and reset circadian rhythms after late nights.

Going into the new year, it’s also time to reset your diet. After all of the booze and turkey and pie, you need to start feeding yourself nutrients again. Look into the Cronometer app, which can help you track your nutrition, tell you what you’re missing, and suggest meals that can help you fill the gap.

If you live in a party capital like Las Vegas, or just a major city, you might notice the rise of oxygen bars. Instead of serving drinks, it offers guests the opportunity to breathe oxygen-enriched air (up to 95% oxygen vs. 21% in normal air). Sessions usually last about 30 minutes and are known to cure headaches (or hangovers).

If a hangover over the holiday season has become a recurrent pattern, reach for any of this tech to take the edge off. And if you adapt any of these technologies early in the year, maybe health will be your recurrent pattern in 2026. See you on the other side in 2026!
