Assess Technical Feasibility

One of the most important things a startup can do is to assess the technical feasibility of their product or service. This means looking at whether or not your idea is achievable from an engineering and manufacturing standpoint.

There are a few key questions you should ask yourself when doing this assessment:

  • Can we actually build this?

  • Do we have the necessary skills and knowledge to make this happen?

  • Is there anyone else out there who has done something similar that we can learn from?

  • What kind of resources will be required to get this off the ground?

  • Are those resources available to us?

  • How long will it realistically take to bring this product or service to market?

Additional considerations for when you assess technical feasibility

When beginning the process to assess technical feasibility, it's important to be as realistic as possible. It's easy to get caught up in the excitement of a new idea.

By taking a step back and really evaluating all aspects of your proposed solution, you'll be able to save time and money in the long run by ensuring that what you're working on is actually achievable.
